ROBERSONVILLE - Kathleen Nelson Jenkins, 80, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel cemetery with Pastor Ron Elkins officiating.
Kathleen was the daughter of the late John Richard Nelson and Lelia Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Jenkins Sr., who died June 1986; a brother, Cecil Nelson; and a sister, Margaret Davis.
She was employed by the Filling Station Restaurant and First Christian Church in Robersonville as a bookkeeper/secretary, retired manager of Handy Mart in Robersonville and a member of the Robersonville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, John David Jenkins Jr. and wife Libby of Robersonville; grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor Jenkins and Justin Coy Jenkins of Robersonville; and brother, Johnny Nelson of Robersonville.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at 405 N. Grimes St.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Robersonville United Methodist Church or the Robersonville Ruritan Club.

thinking of you this morning. always thought the world of mrs. kathleen. you and her let an old country boy experience "city life" when i spent the night with you when we were kids. always will remember her cornbread. thanks for the fond memories. be praying for you. may God bless
