DONALD E. HAUSMAN, 80, OF BIRDSBORO Donald E. Hausman, 80, of Birdsboro, husband of Marie E. (Kutz) Hausman, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at his home. Born in Gabelsville, he was the son of the late Jacob W. and Hannah S. (Moyer) Hausman. Donald was owner of Donald E. Hausman Electrical Contractor for the past 50 years. He was a master electrician working for Paul W. Moyer & Sons Inc. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's UCC Church in Douglassville. Donnie graduated from Boyertown High School in 1950. He joined the US Army in 1951 to 1953. He reached the rank of Sergeant in the Korean Conflict, where he was a tank commander in the Tank CO 34th Infantry Regiment. After being discharged from the military, he became employed by WS Kutz Construction CO in Douglassville, where he was a laborer and learned his trade of being a master electrician from his brother-in-law, Stauffer Kutz. He was an avid hunter, taking many hunting trips to Idaho and Montana with his friend Eddie hunting for elk and mule deer. He was a member of Friendship Hook and Ladder Fire Co in Boyertown and a life member of the NRA. Surviving with his wife is his sister, Ruth Hausman Heydt of Pottstown, along with many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Emily Reitnauer and Dorothy Sweinhart, and brothers, Oscar, Lawrence J. and Harold Hausman. A funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at St. Paul's UCC, 1312 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, PA 19518, with Pastor Steven Simpson officiating. Entombment will be at the family's convenience at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
