Kirchman, Harvey
Harvey W. Kirchman, 87, Green Bay, passed away peacefully late Saturday morning, October 6, 2012 at a local care facility. Born December 2, 1924, in Rio Creek, Kewaunee County, he is the son of the late Paul and Nellie (Mikle) Kirchman. Harvey served in the Army Air Corp during WWII in the European Theater. He married Alice Luebke on July 1, 1950 at St. Paul Lutheran in Rankin and she preceded him in death on February 14, 1993. Harvey was employed with Green Bay Planing Mill and later continued his woodworking career at Associated Woodwork in Oconto. After retirement, Harvey truly enjoyed his time working as a courier for Gandrud Chevrolet. He will be remembered as an avid hunter, fisherman, and as a Packer fan. Harvey found great joy in taking a wonderful drive in the countryside but most importantly, he loved his time with his family.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Nancy of Black River Falls and Dennis and Mary of Manawa; two grandchildren, Amber (Josh) VanBoxel and Casey Kirchman; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Cooper; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Joyce Kirchman of Algoma; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 42 years, Alice; one sister and brother-in-law, Luella and Roland Sibilsky; one brother, Raymond Kirchman and his special friend, Theresa Iannerelli; other extended family members.
Visitation at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 South Henry Street, Tuesday from 2pm until the time of the funeral. Funeral service 4pm at the church with Rev. David Hatch officiating. Jerry and Dennis- I remember your Dad from our family dinners many years ago. He kept in touch through the years, writing notes at Christmas time. His work as a truck driver always amazed me. I never knew he was a woodworker, but was excited to find that out. That is one of my favorite things. We hope you will find comfort in good memories, and in gratitude for having had such a wonderful Dad with you for so many years. We all send our love.

Jerry...I am really sorry I missed your dad's funeral. I don't get the paper so it was just by luck that I found out about your loss. Your dad and my dad and my brother were all named Harvey so it was like having family present at Green Bay Planing Mill. I would have loved to see you again and I pass on my wishes that you remember the good times with your parents...that seems to help get past your loss.
Curt Andersen, now a Master Cabinetmaker, thanks to Harvey.

Dear cousins,
It has been far too long ago since we gathered at Granpa Luebke's home in Fond du lac for Thanksgiving dinners. Our dads would talk Packer talk all afternoon while we would go outside and heave the football ala Bart Starr.
I will always remember Uncle Harvey as a quiet but warm and thoughtful man.
I'm sorry that the distance will once again keep us from being together, but please know we share your loss and trust that you will find peace and comfort in the days to come. Please give your families a hug from all of us out West.
Dick Luebke, Jr.
