Bernard Dubin Obituary

Bernard M. "Bernie" Dubin, Boynton Beach, Fla., a former resident of Clarks Summit, died Friday at Delray Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Lois Plottle Krieger Dubin. His first wife, Bernice Greenes Dubin, died in 1986.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Harry and Minnie Barnett Dubin, he was a graduate of Scranton High School and the University of Scranton. He was a World War II Army veteran. Before retirement, he was the co-owner of D&L Janitorial Supply Co. and Paper Sales Co., both in Scranton. He was a member and served as chairman of the finance committees of both Temple Israel and the Scranton-Lackawanna Jewish Federation.

He was a member of B'nai B'rith, the Jewish Home, the Jewish Community Center and Glen Oak Country Club.

Bernard was a very loving and caring man who was always careful in conversation and deed not to offend the other person.

Also surviving are a daughter, Libby Dubin, Marina del Ray, Calif.; two sons, Michael Dubin and wife, Andi, Radnor, Pa.; and Alan Dubin, Bethesda, Md.; stepchildren, Jim Krieger, Clarks Summit; Alan Krieger and wife, Sandy, Playa del Ray, Calif.; Nancie Hochberg and husband, Steven, Rancho Sante Fe, Calif.; Jill Linder and husband, James, Clarks Summit; and Gary Krieger and wife, Tracie, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph M. Dubin.

The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Temple Israel, Monroe Avenue and East Gibson Street, Scranton, with services by Rabbi Joseph Mendelsohn and Cantor Vladimir Aronzon. Interment, Dalton Jewish Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Temple Israel from 10:30 until the time of service.

Shiva will be observed at the residence of Jill and James Linder, 1017 Greenbriar Drive, Clarks Summit, Monday 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday and Wednesday, 2 to 4 nd 7 to 9 p.m.
