Deborah J. Skidmore, 63, of Scranton, died Monday morning in Regional Hospital of Scranton following an extended illness.
Born Sept. 12, 1949, in Scranton, she was the daughter of Betty Held Stahl of Scranton and the late Howard O. Stahl. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and, before her illness, was employed by the Lackawanna College Police Academy. Deborah was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton, and the Order of Eastern Star, Martha Washington Chapter.
Also surviving are a daughter, Tara L. Skidmore, Scranton; and a son, Russell W. Skidmore and fiancée, Marissa, Moosic.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth H. Stahl, in 1986.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., Scranton, with the Rev. Scott Loomer, pastor as officiating clergy.
Friends may call Friday, 4 to 7 p.m., in the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton, and Sunday, 1 until service, at the church.

Tara and Rusty, We just heard about your mom. Im sorry we were not able to be there and are truely sorry for your loss. My mom asked me to write and let you know she is also thinking of you guys and we miss you all. Your mom was a great woman and I will never forget a lot of memories of growing up with you two and your mother, just know we are thinking of you and praying for you through this difficult time.
