DUNEDIN, FL Ilene J. "Sis" Toth died Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Hospice in Palm Harbor, Fla., after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born September 8, 1942, in Strongstown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Berkheimer) Gladfelter. Her family moved to Spring Grove when Ilene was five and she attended Heidleburg Elementary and Spring Grove Junior and Senior High Schools. Before moving to Florida in 1983, she worked as an LPN at Hanover Hospital and Polyclinic Hospital, and as a medical secretary and payroll clerk at Memorial Hospital in York. Her most recent employer was the Brookside Division of Suncoast Hospice in Florida. Ilene loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed singing in high school and was an avid pool player for many years. After losing her twin brother at age 14, nursing and helping others was in her heart always. She is survived by her companion, Joseph Schroeder; two sisters, Barbara Garrett and Patricia Grote, both of Hanover; four nieces; two nephews; three stepdaughters; one stepson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Gene "Butch" Toth; two sisters, Betty and Joan Toth; and her grandparents, Joseph and Esther Toth, and Jonas and Tillie Berkheimer. Following cremation, a small service will be held at Dobies Funeral Home in Holiday, Fla., for friends and co-workers. Her final wishes were to return to Pennsylvania and be with her twin brother. No service will be held in Spring Grove.
