Thomas "Tom" J. Swiezy
43, Indianapolis, was called to eternal life on December 9, 2012. Tom was born on April 4, 1969, the youngest of Anthony and Rosemarie (Neu) Swiezy's nine children. He was a lifelong resident of the Southside of Indianapolis. Tom attended St. Mark Catholic School and Roncalli High School. He participated in football and wrestling while at Roncalli and was a member of the 1986 State Football Championship Team. His senior year, he suffered a tragic wrestling accident that paralyzed him. Tom's strong faith, perserverance and determination enabled him to overcome adversity. He proceeded to college and graduated with academic honors from Purdue University at Indianapolis with a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Technology and an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology. Tom was employed at CR Stafford and Associates as a Project Manager. Tom was very involved at St. Mark Catholic Church in faith ministries, Men's Club, Boys Scouts, athletics and a member of the Southside Knights of Columbus. His love of wrestling was evident as he mentored and coached his little grapplers and cheered on the Rebel wrestlers. In addition to his St. Mark ministries, Tom was an avid Notre Dame Football fan. He also enjoyed Colts football, Purdue and auto racing. A dedicated Roncalli fan, Tom could be found in the Roncalli end zone in all types of weather.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie. He is survived by his father, Anthony "Bud" Swiezy, and his brothers, Tony, Andy (Angi), Matt and Thad and sisters, Anna Marie (Denny) Bachman, Aura Lee (Mike) Lyons, Jeanette (Charlie) Bowling, and Jeanene. He is also survived by his 15 loving nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

I am so sorry, shocked, and saddened to here of the passing of Tom. We rode the bus together for years and I had just rode home with him. A very spunky guy, funny, and just good people. He loved the Colts, and I remember is big Colts bus we joked about.
I will keep the Swiezy family in my thoughts and prayers during this tragic loss. He now has his wings and at peace with the Lord.

Jesus has a special mansion prepared for Tom. He was a gentle, faithful, hopeful man who I was proud to know as a student and proud to work with as an architect. I feel so blessed that he was able to work on our blockhouse and wrestling room project at Roncalli and I know he felt the same way. What a fitting gift and legacy for Tom to leave behind to our school and our community!

Dear Tom,
We will sorely miss you especially at Mass,we will miss your pleasant smile and chatter and the adroit handling of your chair as you gently guided your Dad at Communion time. We think Jesus needed you at his camp to lead all the young people in their exercises. Bless you and may the rain fall gently on your field.
With love,
Fran and Nuala
