Karen Baldry Rogers, 70, passed away Jan. 8, 2013, at her home in Klamath Falls.
She was born May 28, 1942, in Eureka, Calif., to Art and Georgia Baldry.
Karen graduated from Eureka High School in 1960 and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Humboldt State University in 1964.
She married Joe Rogers in 1964 and lived in Arcata, Calif., before relocating to Oregon in 1966.
Karen was an elementary teacher, who taught two years in Arcata and 30 years in the Klamath County School District until she retired in 1996. When she was not teaching, she enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, making quilts, and reading. She was a longtime member of Klamath Campers and also an amateur radio operator.
She is survived by husband Joe Rogers; daughter and son-in-law Erin and Ken Banks of Klamath Falls; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Mandi Rogers of Bozeman, Mont.; sister Marsha Maharry of Bencia, Calif.; and two grandsons, Kevin and Cole.
A private family memorial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to CASA or Klamath Hospice.

My thoughts and prayers for the Rogers family through this tough time. I have tucked away wonderful memories of all the camping and fishing trips the Groenevelds and Rogers shared over the years. I feel honored to have been able to join Karen and Joe for dinner numerous times over the last three years. Karen will be deeply missed and her pain is now gone. God Bless you!

Karen was such a vital part of the Groeneveld family! I have tucked deep in my heart numerous wonderful camping and fishing family outings between the Groenevelds and Rogers. Karen will be deeply missed! I feel honored to have had many dinner dates with Joe and Karen over the last three years. Praying for the Rogers family through this tough time. Love you all!
