William Kay Obituary

William C. "Bill" Kay, 74, resident of Dewey, died at 4:16 PM Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Dewey.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Mark Bright of Rivercross Hospice officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the James H. Teel Post 105 or the American Legion. Cremation arrangements were by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
William Chester Kay was born on November 23, 1938 at Kahoka, Missouri the son of Byrl and Margarite (Speaks) Kay. He was raised in Iowa. He served in the US Army during Korea and several tours of duty in Viet Nam. He received two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star and the Silver Star Metals. While in the Army he coached and played Baseball on the Base Team. He was a very good Pitcher. He married Frieda Tausch on July 5, 1965. He retired from the Army in 1977. After he retired he worked at REDA Pump in the security department then he worked with his brother in the Heat and Air and Sheet metal business for several years. He was also an accomplished Upholsterer. He loved his grandchildren. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge for over 25 years. He loved to play golf and loved his dogs and loved to work in his garden.
Bill is survived by his wife Frieda of the home, one son James Kay of Bartlesville, two brothers, Donald Kay and his wife Sherri, of Edmond and Byrl Kay, Jr. of Germany, one sister, Mary of Iowa, daughter-in-law, Shirley Moore of Bartlesville, three grandchildren, Tyler, Zackery and Brittney and one great granddaughter Bailey Ann Kay one sister-in-law Gertrude Henschel and her husband John, one and one brother–in-law Emiel Tausch and his wife Petra of Germany and several nieces nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents one son William Chester "Billy" Kay, Jr., and four brothers, Bud, Sam, Charles and Earl.
