Alfonso G. Genello, Of Glen Mills, Formerly of Havertown Alfonso G. Genello, 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 21 2013. Raised in Scranton/Dunmore, Pennsylvania, he was a graduate of Central High in Scranton and worked as a Sales Manager for The Hoover Company for 43 years. His passions in life were his family and acting as chief cheerleader for his ever-growing brood of grandchildren and great grandchildren. His lifelong avocation was swimming. His beloved wife Kathryn (nee Touch) predeceased him in 2002 after almost 62 years of marriage. Survivors: his son, Robert G. (Pamela) Daughters, Ann Genello Nagle (Ronald), Denise Genello Donaghue (Hugh) and Karen Genello Tankle (Joseph); 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren. Services: Friends are asked to call from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25, Ruffenach Funeral Home, 4900 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill. A Mass celebrating his life, will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday, St. Dorothy's Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Donations: may be made to St. Dorothy's Church at the above address, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements: handled by Ruffenach of Drexel Hill, 610-789-4448.
