SHELBY - Ms. Doris Elaine Gardner Humphries, 86, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at White Oak Manor of Shelby.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, she is the daughter of the late Earl H. Gardner and Cecil Brown Gardner. She had worked and later retired from JC Penny as a sales clerk. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Humphries.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Rouse and husband, Michael, of Polkville; two sons, Earl Ray Humphries of Kings Mountain and Donald Richard Humphries of Nixa, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

DORIS, YOU WERE ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS. I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU DEARLY. I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN YOU. I KNOW YOU ARE WITH THE LORD NOW AND I HOPE YOUR FAMILY WILL FIND PEACE KNOWING THIS AS WELL. THEY ARE IN MY PRAYERS. GOODBYE DORIS... LOVE YA
