Chester Anthony Brojek, Sr., age 91, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. He was born December 13, 1921 in Erie, Pa. to John and Antonina (Szymanski) Brojek. He was a Kitchen Supervisor for the Erie Veteran's Retirement Home in Erie, Pa., worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, member of the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, V.F.W., American Legion, served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WW II, and has been a resident of Avon Park, Fla. since 1983, coming from Erie, Pa. He is survived by his Wife â€" Verlie Mary Brojek of Sebring, Fla.; Son â€" Chester "Chet" A. Brojek, Jr. (Christine) of Sebring, Fla.; Daughters â€" Melinda L. Short (Deke) of Venice, Fla.; Susan M. Verbosky (Robert) of Cortland, Ohio; Sister â€" Rita Rapp of Erie, Pa.; two Grandchildren; and two Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Son â€" John Alexander Brojek. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Father Nick McLoughlin officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Bougainvillea Cemetery. Wonderful memories of Mr Brojek and the Family from ours days on Delaware Ave in Erie ,Pa. What a great role model Chet was during my youth. Tony,(Chet!Jr) and Johnny are never forgotten friends and I am deeply saddened for the entire Brojek Family. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with you.
