Verl Hayner Obituary

Verl Ashliman Hayner, 86, of Ammon, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society-Idaho Falls Village. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

She was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Tooele, Utah, to Eldon Ensine Ashliman and Alta Clark Ashliman. When she was 1 year old, the family moved to Idaho Falls, where she grew up and attended schools.

On July 9, 1971, she married her soul mate, Kenneth I. Hayner, in Shelley. She was a mother and homemaker and also worked at Yellowstone Leather. Kenneth preceded her in death Aug. 9, 1998.

Verl was a member of the Shelley Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, dancing and puzzles and was an avid collector of antiques.

Survivors are her daughters, Tana Lee Thorngren of Ammon, CeDenia (Larry) Thomas of Queens Valley, Ariz., Donna (Jack) Barzee of Shelley and Frances (Kenneth) Ketchie of Denver, Colo.; son, Morrice Eldon Chambers; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Dewayne; three brothers; and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, in New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
