Kevin L. Springman, 47, Altamont
Kevin Lee Springman, 47, of Altamont, formerly of Brownstown, died at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Elmo. Burial will be in Pilcher Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown. Memorials: Pilcher Cemetery or donor's choice. Mr. Springman was born on Tuesday, April 13, 1965, in Vandalia, the son of William "Bill" and Betty Durbin Springman. He married Lori Fisher on Aug. 20, 1988, in Brownstown.
He was employed as the supervisor of the Bureau of Identification at Vandalia Correctional Center, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Elmo and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Alison and her husband Logan Cage of Brownstown, Katie Springman of Altamont and Emily Springman of Carbondale; his grandchildren and his pride and joy, Liam Cage and Alaina Cage, both of Brownstown; brothers, Russell Springman of Brownstown, and Brice Springman and his wife Angie of Vandalia; sisters, Carla and her husband Jeff Higgs of Altamont, and Connie Oakley and fiancé Jeff Gardner of Brownstown; parents; paternal grandmother, Pauline Springman of Brownstown; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.
