Novak, Jane M.
Jane M. Novak, 91, Algoma, died Monday April 15, 2013 at Bellin Hospital. She was born April 7, 1922 in Nasewaupee on the Feest Family Farm to Frank and Julia (Schmelzle) Feest. Jane graduated from the Algoma High School in 1939.
Jane worked at Martin's Cafe, Algoma Plywood and the Algoma Memorial Hospital.
She married Edward "Ted" Novak May 8, 1945 in Maplewood. They were blessed with nine children. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. Jane enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, knitting, sewing, gardening and going to the Chapel every Tuesday with her cousins Marie, Doris, Helen and Ann. Jane volunteered form many years at St. Vincent DePaul Store.
She is survived by her brother Harold Feest, Forestville; her son Robert (Mary) Novak, Kewauee; son David (Susan) Novak, Hortonville; daughters Mary Thorpe, Kewaunee; Cathy Kay, Niagara; son John (Connie) Novak, Algoma; daughters Jane Novak, Milwaukee; Judy (Steve) Tess, Sturgeon Bay; and Lisa Tuttle and Russ Sibislky, Algoma; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Eddie,
Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 and after 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Prayer service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
