WHITE
Walter Thomas White, 90, of Mt. Sterling, went Home to be with his Lord Jesus on Friday, May 3, 2013. He passed at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was a 1959 graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee with a Bachelor's in Theology.
He pastored the Reynoldsburg and Whitehall Churches of the Nazarene and founded Lighthouse Community Church near Canal Winchester.
Long-time member of the Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene.
Preceded in death by loving wife of 58 years, Marjory Massie; parents, Cecil and Fanny Chrissman White; brother, Junior; sisters, Agnes Hosler, Ella Fryer and Edna Armstrong.
Survived by loving wife, Mary Rowland White; stepdaughters, Elizabeth Thompson of Orient and Julene (Bill) Stires of Circleville; foster daughter, Charlesa (Raymond) Kaye of Florida; special nephew, Roger (Kelly) Sparks of Mt. Sterling; special cousin, Rev. Paul White of Illinois; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was an outstanding witness for Jesus, leading many people to accept Him as their Savior. He loved all people and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank Loving Care Home Health staff, all the caregivers, friends and neighbors for their prayers, help and support. A special thank you to his caring nurse, Mary Ann.
Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene, 226 Market St., Mt. Sterling, OH 43143, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Rev. Ron Reynolds and Rev. Dortha Ross will be officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of the service. Interment will be at Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements by the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, Ohio.
