Jewell Matthews Obituary

XENIA Jewell F. Matthews, 93, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born June 11, 1919, in Gallia County, Ohio, the daughter of Emmett and Rachel Waugh Fraley. She was a member of Oldtown United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Richard) Chaplin, Xenia, two grandchildren, Matthew (Monique) Kildow, Marietta, and Jennifer (Matthew) Johnson, McDermott, three great-grandchildren, Sarah Johnson, Tristan Kildow, and Keely Jaeger, a great-great-granddaughter, Chenoa Jaeger, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clare C. Matthews, on April 24, 1986, and was the last of 13 brothers and sisters. Jewell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Monday, May 13, 2013, Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, with Rev. Daryl Fairchild officiating. There will be no visitation. Contributions may be made to the Oldtown United Methodist Church, 1639 US Route 68 N., Xenia, OH, 45385, in her memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com.
