Alice D. Braun, 89, of Plymouth, died peacefully on May 22, with her family by her side. Alice has previously beaten breast cancer and lymphoma exhibiting the strength and courage she has embodied her entire life. She has gone to be with God. She was a loving wife to Karl Braun, Senior for 66 years where their love served as an inspiration to their entire family. They met after World War II and have been soul mates ever since, marrying on September 15, 1946. Alice is a proud World War II veteran having served in the United States Navy | Waves. Alice graduated high school from the Town of West Bridgewater and attended Hunter College in New York City. Alice loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, traveling the world, and volunteering for various organizations including many political campaigns. Alice will be greatly missed by Karl as well as her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was a loving mother to Karl Braun Jr. and wife Lisa of Plymouth, Ken Braun and wife Mary of Lutherville, MD, and Kathy Sotomayor of Venice, Florida. She was the worlds best grandmother and will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren: Kristin DiObilda (and husband Pete), Kevin Braun, Ken Braun, Jackie Dressel (with husband Del and great-grandson Jackson), Kendal Braun, Jorge Sotomayor, Daniel Sotomayor, Christopher Braun and Andrew Braun. She is also survived by four siblings: Arthur Chaves (and wife Catherine), Dorothy Caramanica (and husband Edward), Raymond Chaves (and wife Helen), and Joyce Gillen (and husband Denis). She will also be greatly missed by her cat, Mia. Alice was predeceased by her two sisters: Barbara Tompkins and Grace Sousa. Visitation will be held at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater on Sunday, May 26 from 3 to 5:30 with a service starting at 5:30. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Ann's Church, West Bridgewater.
