Eddie Sherwood, 51, of Holyoke, formerly of Hennessey, Okla., passed away May 13, 2013, at Pampa, Texas. Graveside Service and Inurnment will be held at 3 p.m., June 21, at the Holyoke Cemetery in Holyoke, with Pastor Merle Powell officiating.
He was born June 24, 1961, in Sterling, to Oral and Myra (Chandler) Sherwood. He spent some of his young age growing up in Crook, then the family moved to a farm in Pride Port, Neb. Later, he graduated from Holyoke High School.
After graduation he moved to Crook, and worked for the Proctor Hay Mill. He then moved to Hennessey, Okla., where he met and married his wife of 26 years, Bonnie Scheuerman. He then started a career of 30 years in the pipeline construction for numerous companies with many years spent in Sterling Construction Company as a hoe man and site manager. He worked throughout several states, including Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Mississippi, Utah, North and South Dakota and Wyoming.
He enjoyed visiting with family, playing slots and traveling on the job and seeing new sights.
He is survived by his mother, Myra Sherwood of Holyoke; a brother, Ray Hawk of Loveland; two sisters, Rita Kokes and husband Paul of Newcastle, Wyo., and Lori Theibeault and husband Phil of Alliance, Neb.; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sherwood; father, Orval Sherwood; and brother, Don Hawk.
