Leibold, Robert C.
Robert Carl Leibold, age 87, originally of Neenah, passed away July 6, 2013. He was born February 5, 1926, to the late Armin and Catharine (Cline) Leibold in Park Ridge, Illinois. On May 14, 1955, he married Joanne Muenster.
Bob was born the youngest of three children. He discovered an aptitude for art while convalescing as a child. This artistic ability served him well. He worked in the advertising business for the duration of his adult life. Much of that time was spent owning and running Leibold Associates, which won several Addy Awards under his tenure. The company continues to thrive, now named simply Leibold. Bob also served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during World War II, after which he attended the University of Illinois, the Chicago Academy of Art and the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles, California. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed painting landscapes, wildlife, and portraits. He challenged himself at the Peninsula School of Art, studying with many fine instructors and friends. He always wanted to learn more.
Family was important to Bob. He and his wife, Joanne, raised eight children. It was always obvious to his children that he was kind, calm, gentle, and patient. He knew what was truly important to his kids. If it was in his power, he made something happen for them. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren populated his life, they too came to know this about him. Bob's love of the outdoors was demonstrated by numerous family trips out West and camping in Wisconsin.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joanne; his children: Robert J. (Barbara); James A. (Nancy Cameron); Richard A.; Louise A.; Lisa L. (Elliott) Williams; Dorothy J. (Eric Mayo) Simmons; and Donald W. (Tiffany Hoebeck); his grandchildren: Benjamin (Jennifer) Paulson; Robert and Abigail Leibold; Julie (Alexander Ketchpaw) Leibold; Sara Leibold; Leah Friedin; Elliott and Robert Williams; Zackery and Elijah Simmons; and Michaela Mayo. He is further survived by three great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Adaerya Paulson; Emmalina Leibold; and his two sisters: Catharine and Louise. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Marie Leibold.
A funeral service for Bob will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 809 South Commercial Street, Neenah, Wisconsin, Pastor Catherine Mode officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the hour of service. Inurnment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peninsula School of Art, P.O. Box 304, Fish Creek, Wisconsin 54212.

Dear Joanne and family,
Was sorry to read about Bob's passing. The two of you have special memories for me, as I bowled with you Joanne for many years and Bob painted the picture of our church with doves that our family hung in the mausoleum where my husband buried. Prayers are extended to all of you.
