VOLNEY D. "BUD" LANG A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Volney D. "Bud" Lang will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Paradise Alliance Church. He passed away July 2, 2013 at his home in Paradise. He was born November 3, 1933 to Volney & Emily Lang in San Francisco, CA. Bud served in the United States Army from 1953-1956. Bud received a B.S. degree from the University of San Francisco and his M.A., where he wrote his thesis on Ministry Development & Training. He taught public Junior & High School for 18 years. Bud was Pastor, Principal for Christian Schools and Missionary for 10 plus years. He spent 20 years coaching, and many years teaching and training groups throughout North America, England, Peru, Mexico, the Philippines and South Korea. Bud was very involved with Youth With A Mission first as a student and then as Administrator, Conference Director, Leader and Teacher. He was also a Chico City Councilman and Community Relations Coordinator for Feather Canyon Retirement. Recently he had been active in the Paradise Alliance Church serving on Board of Directors, Chairman of the Elder Board and Stephen Ministry. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; Lyn Lang, children; John (Candy) Lang, Missy Calvi, Dani Lang, Mary (Fred) Dallenbach, Tony (Marci) Lang, Kim (Tim) Long and Danielle (Dale) Penne, 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and many spiritual grandchildren from the Philippines, Peru, Brazil, Guatemala, South Korea and Mexico. He was preceded in death by a son Matthew Patrick Lang in 1995. Burial was at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
