Connie J. Grant
SPRINGFIELD – Connie J. Grant, 74, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born July 29, 1938, to Samuel and Frances (Mohn) Myers. She married Thomas "Kenny" Grant on Nov. 11, 1955, in Jacksonville.
Connie was a homemaker and spent much of her time babysitting over the years. She was a member of Real Life Church and was actively involved with Relay For Life. Her family was a big part of her life. She was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Kenny" Grant, Sr.; sons, Thomas "Kenny" Grant, Jr., of Springfield, and Kevin (Debbie) Grant, Sr., of Fairmount; three grandchildren, Thomas "Tommy" (Stacey) Grant III, Amy Jo Grant, and their mother, Sherry Grant, and Kevin Grant, Jr. (fiancé, Danielle Fox), all of Springfield; six great-grandchildren, Tristan, Josey and Megan Grace Grant, Ryan Quentana, Dylan Neal and Aden Webb; her siblings, Helen Connell of Springfield, Norman Myers, Sr., of Virden, Kay Farley of Springfield, and Toni (Butch) Miles of Yuma, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Rosco.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark, her parents, and two brothers, Samuel Myers, Jr., and Harold "Bud" Myers.
Visitation: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2013, at the funeral home, with Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
