Frances Leone Thompson-Murone
A resident of Redlands for 53 years, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Redlands Community Hospital from heart failure with her family at her side. She was 88.
Born in Dearborn, Michigan, September 3, 1924 she later moved to Long Beach California. After graduating from Poly High School she was employed by Douglas Aircraft Company. She married her high school sweetheart Pasquale Vincent Murone on July 29, 1944, just days prior to her new husband's military deployment. Together they lived in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Florida, Alabama, France, Germany, and Colorado, before settling in Redlands, California. They celebrated 66 years of marriage just before his passing on July 20, 2011.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, Redlands (formerly Sacred Heart) since 1960; was Military Wives Club Member serving all positions throughout her husband's career. Was active with Parent Teachers Association, Italian American Club, enjoyed her friends with Breakfast Club of Redlands, Kimberly Shirk Association Docent and Redlands Community Hospital Volunteer. She enjoyed playing bridge, socializing with her friends, traveling and family gatherings. Her passion was her family; she was involved with every aspect in raising their three sons and was a tireless volunteer with their schools and organizations.
She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Vince and Cheryl Murone Jr. of Las Vegas; Ron and Dora Murone of Seabrook, Texas; and Tim and Meike Murone of Redlands; nine grandchildren, Kirsten Riley, Paul Murone and Nick Murone of Las Vegas; Lynne Murone-Rouse of St. Louis, Mo.; Laura Murone-Orr of West Hollywood, Calif.; Joe Murone, Texas; and Natalie Murone, Teejay Murone and Tristan Murone of Redlands; and two year old twin great-grandchildren Logan and Sean Riley of Las Vegas.
Services will be on Friday, August 9, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, followed by a Celebration with family and friends at Holy Name of Jesus, Pastoral Center until
4 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to Breakfast Club of Redlands, 633 Esther Way, Redlands, CA 92373, Breakfast Club proudly serves the Family Service Association of Redlands. Cortner Chapel in charge of arrangements.
