Perry , GA- Milton "Doug" Barker passed away on August 19, 2013, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 2:00PM at Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Box Springs, GA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 6:00PM- 8:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins, GA. Brother Joe Phillips will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Heart of GA Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088 or Gentiva Hospice, 750 Baconsfield Dr., Macon, GA 31211.
Mr. Barker was born June 26, 1933 to the late Robert and Katherine Barker in Americus, GA. Mr. Barker served in the U.S. Army. He also worked for Robins Air Force Base as an Electronics Tech. Mr. Barker was a member of Second Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Barker was preceded in death by his first wife Wilma Nell Barker and a son Keith Barker.
Survivors include: his wife, Leila Barker of Perry; children Mona (Joe) Phillips of Centerville; four grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; three stepdaughters; one stepson; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
