Shirley A. Testone
Shirley Alberta Testone died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family on the morning of Aug. 24, 2013. She was born in Hatfield, Pa.She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Q. Testone; her father, George Sloan; her mother, Alberta Gomringer-Sloan; and her sister, Gail Wambold She leaves behind a daughter, Tina Marie Virgilio, and her son-in-law, Kevin E. Virgilio, and a son, Thomas Sloan Testone. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Kimberly Nolan, Joy Heacock, Jeff Heacock, and Michael Heacock. Her hugs and smiles will be missed by her four grandchildren, Tawny Rae, Nicholas Samuel, and Michael-Anthony, and Thomas-Anthony. She cherished her time with Leta and Michael Majchrowski, Alex Simisky, and Jacklyn Therrien. She enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, and many hobbies in the arts and crafts, and baking. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a friendly smile for everyone she met. She dearly loved her two children. She enjoyed flying with her husband, a pilot, and travel. In her later years, she was active on committees in her retirement community. She belonged to the United Church of Christ in the area of Harleysville, Pa., where she made many friends. The last years of her life were spent with her daughter and son-in-law. She will be sorely missed. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Shirley Alberta Testone will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 am. at Reigning Love Church, 235 East Street, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Philip Thurmond, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to Elder Services of Berkshire County, both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201
