Jim and family moved to their current home on Okaloosa Island in 1971 and he enjoyed a successful career of over 30 years at Gulf Power Company.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol; his son, Jeffrey James Davis and wife Kim, of Cornelius, N.C.; and daughter, Tiffiny Coffey and husband, Glen Coffey, of Punta Gorda, Fla. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Davis and wife, Jannie, of Frenchtown, Montana. Jim and Carol have four grandchildren: Camille Davis, Leah Davis, Reed Coffey, and Lila Coffey.

Jim was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Walton Beach, where he was a Deacon and an Elder. He was an active Rotarian of 34 years, and upon in his retirement from Gulf Power enjoyed extensive global travels with Carol. Together, they lived a full and blessed life. Jim played accordion, percussion, loved world music, gardening, fishing, golf, and was full of ingenuity and wit.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 134 Beal Parkway SW in Fort Walton Beach, followed by a reception. Casual attire is welcome at the ceremony, in the spirit, and in honor of Jim's relaxed, retired lifestyle.
