Eldora Hannum Obituary

Eldora K. Hannum
Nov. 26, 1921 - Sept. 4, 2013
Resident of Moraga
Eldora passed away peacefully on the evening of September 4, 2013. Eldora was born in San Francisco on November 26, 1921 and is a third generation San Franciscan. Eldora loved her career as a San Francisco elementary school teacher. She met her husband Dale at a Sierra Club bike ride in San Francisco. Dale has referred to Eldora affectionately as "Precious" during their 65 years of marriage. Dale and Eldora loved to travel around the world and always brought family with them when possible. The annual trip to Yosemite was a family experience where Eldora and Dale worked to bring family together and instill a love of the outdoors through their endless joy of seeing everyone gathered together among the trees. Eldora was a lifelong dancer. She started dancing as a teenager and continued as an active member of local dancing groups with her husband Dale throughout her life.
Eldora is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Dale; devoted children, Susan and Jim of Orinda, John and Dayna of Danville, and Linda of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren Eric and Liz, Michelle and Andrew, Christina and Chris, Melissa and Lee, Robert and Jessica, Julie, Gregory and Alicia; and great grandchildren, Chase and Lucas. Eldora is predeceased by daughter Carol.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 am at Hulls Walnut Creek Chapel, 1139 Saranap Ave., Walnut Creek. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Yosemite Conservancy.
