Geraldene "Gerrie" King Nielson, 71, of Shelley, rejoined her sweetheart Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls after suffering a bad fall at her home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Logan, Utah, to Justus Warren King and Ruth LaNorma Jenson King. She graduated from Grace High School in 1960.
On Feb. 22, 1961, Gerrie married DeVerl Edgar Nielson in Grace, Idaho. She worked for Idaho Supreme and enjoyed several trips to Mexico, Canada, Alaska and Florida. She spent many years hunting and fishing alongside her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing her Nintendo and spending time with her grandkids. Her first love was her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various organizations. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Donald Nielson of Shalimar, Fla.; daughter, Lisa (Steven) Christensen of Shelley; sisters, Janice (Craig) Wilker of Grace and Karen (Mark) Andreasen of Preston; sister-in-law, Kayleen (Bob) Burton of Grace; and seven grandchildren: Ashley (Scott) Hunt; Jorden, Jared and Shailey Nielson; and Jessica, Samantha and MaKenzie Christensen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, DeVerl Nielson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W. Oak St. in Shelley. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.

We are so sorry to hear of Gerrie's accident. Gerrie was a very wonderful friend and we will miss her dearly. Gail is stuck in Wyoming working and we won't be able to attend the graveside but please know that our hearts and prayers are with you.
