Carolyn Maas Mayotte of Sun City West, AZ, died on September 30, 2013 with her family by her side.
Carolyn was born to Clara Gillespie and Russell Maas in Oak Park, Illinois on June 7, 1930. She graduated with her BS from Michigan State University in 1952. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a medical technologist and bookkeeper. A resident of Sun City West for 27 years, Mrs. Mayotte was an active member of Sun City West Ceramics and the Del Webb Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert and granddaughter Patricia. She is survived by her three children: Katherine Riedel (Joseph) of Sun City West, AZ, Judith Shamus (Steven) of Redford, MI and Richard (Heather) of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Virginia of Sun City West, AZ; grandchildren: Jenette, Charles, Nathan, Stephanie (Don), Erin, Robert, Avery and Timothy; great-grandson, William and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 3 at 10:00 A.M. at the Camino del Sol Funeral Home, 13738 W. Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ 85375. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be sent to Helping Hands Foundation of Sun City West (14624 W. RH Johnson Blvd., Sun City West, AZ 85375) or Hospice of the Valley (14066 W. Waddell Rd., Surprise, AZ 85379).
