Ferge, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. Ferge, age 89, Rothschild, WI, died October 19, 2013, at Aspirus Hospice House. She was born January 18, 1924, in Wausau, daughter of the late Irene Mackoway. On October 13, 1943, she married William A. Ferge at Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield. William preceded Dorothy in death in 1982.
Dorothy was a crossing guard for the D.C. Everest School District from 1957-1967. She then worked at Kennedy Park Nursing Home in the village of Weston from 1967-1999. After her retirement, she was a senior aide at the Health Care Center in Wausau for six years. Dorothy also volunteered for the United Way and Good News.
Dorothy was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary from 1986 until her death. Some of her hobbies included sight-seeing, reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, William M. (Carlo) Ferge of Marshfield, WI, and James (Laurie) Ferge of Tomahawk, WI, and a daughter Kathy (Steve Boehm) of Wausau, WI. Grandchildren include Christopher, Rachel, Alexander, Jacob, Megan, Matthew, Katie, and Kristin, and three great grand-daughters, Abigale, Sophie, and Aubrey.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Peace United Church of Christ, 1530 Grand Ave., Schofield. Rev. Larry Treece will officiate. Visitation will from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In accordance with Dorothy's wishes, a private interment will be held at the Town of Berlin Cemetery at a later date. The Brainard Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

I'll always remember the special times at Copper Lake with the Ferge clan. They're in heaven now, reunited and at peace. My sympathy goes out to you.

I'm sorry I could not make today....
Was looking forward seeing Bill, Jim, and Kathy.also the grand children. My mom and your mom were good friends and neighbors. Now it's her turn to rest, after working so long as a caregiver,
