Roger D. Lenke
FAIRBORN: Roger D. Lenke, age 73, of Fairborn, OH, formerly of Woodville, passed at Hospice of Dayton on Saturday morning, October 26, 2013.
He was born on May 2, 1940 in Graytown, OH to Lawrence and Orlena (Otten) Lenke. He married Joyce Haughn in 1960 and she preceded him in death in 1989. He then married LaDonna Kimmet in 1992 and she survives. Roger retired after 30 years as an operator for Brush Wellman. He formerly attended Woodville United Methodist Church, was a volunteer fireman for over 30 years with Woodville Fire Dept., past member of the JC's, was a past President of the Woodville 4th of July Celebration Association and had been active with the girl's summer softball league.
Surviving Roger is his wife: LaDonna of Fairborn; sons: Scott (Tracy) Lenke of Lawrenceburg, IN, Robert (Shannon) Lenke of Point Place, OH; daughter: Lacynda "Cyndi" (Brad) Paul of Woodville, OH; stepdaughter: LaDonna (Jim) Hartsing of Temperance, MI; stepsons: Michael (Sherry) Shuman of Beavercreek, OH, Douglas (Julie) Shuman of Beavercreek, OH, Patrick "PJ" (Missy) Shuman of Fairborn, OH; 13 grandchildren; sister: Laurena (Bud) Grabenstetter of Woodville, OH; sister-in-law: Joan Lenke of Pemberville, OH; brother: Dale (Sharon) Emch of Woodville, OH.
He was preceded in death by his father: Lawrence, mother: Orlena and stepfather: Carl Emch, 1st wife Joyce, infant grandson: Anthony Joseph and brother: James Lenke.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St. Woodville, OH where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11AM. Officiating will be Rev. Carol Williams-Young. Private burial will be in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, OH at a later date. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at Woodville United Methodist Church immediately following the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, considerations for memorial contributions are: Woodville Fire Department and or Hospice of Dayton. Those wishing to express a word of encouragement, share a memory or photo may do so at www.marshfuneralhomes.com
