TELL CITY – Floyd E. Thiery, 92, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville.
Floyd was born in Bandon July 17, 1921 to the late Edward and Albertine Laurent Thiery.
A World War II Army veteran he received a Purple Heart and was also a Prisoner of War.
Surviving are his son Alan Thiery of Bloomington, daughters; Betty Keenan and Janet (Mark) Belisle of Evansville, grandchildren; Adrienne Thiery, Lauren Thiery, Julie Hedinger, Lesa Hedinger, John (Tara) Belisle, and Sarah Belisle, and great-grandchildren; Madison Eberle, Ian Hamm, Brianna Hamm, Lucas Hamm, and Allison Cook.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl and George Thiery, and sisters; Eva Falls, Ida Baumeister, Mae Estes, Helen Winchell and Katie Quinlin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday Nov. 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. CST at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold. Father Brian Esary will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Augustine Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday Oct. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. and Friday 9 to 10:15 AM at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
