DORSEY L. ATKINS, 65
Dorsey L. Atkins, 65, of Lucasville, passed after a long battle with lung disease on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at SOMC.
Born April 20, 1948, in West Portsmouth, a son of the late Elmer and Margaret Brown Atkins, he was a supervisor for T.L. Blackburn Construction. He attended Rubyville Community Church and was involved in the construction of the new church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Atkins; one daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Atkins and fiance, James Best; four grandchildren, Ian (Andi) Watkins, Cody (Desi) Watkins, Joseph Watkins, and Owen Atkins; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Konner and Levi; one brother, Raymond Atkins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Rubyville Community Church with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be at Universal Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.

I am so sorry to hear about Dorsey. John and I really enjoyed our visit with you all last summer and I am glad I got to meet you all. It is a comfort knowing he is safe in the arms of Jesus. The family is in our prayers for your comfort and peace only God can bring.
