Carrico, Samuel Wayne Sr.
Samuel Wayne Carrico, Sr., 72, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida joined his Lord in Heaven Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Sam was born in Johnstown, Pa to the late Samuel James and Elsie (Miorelli) Carrico. He is predeceased by his son, Samuel W. Carrico Jr. and brother Louis James. He lives on in the memories of his loving wife of 31 years, Connie Carrico; five sons, Kevin, Ronald and wife Michelle, Richard and wife Lisa, Joseph and wife Rebecca, and William and wife Rachel; eleven grandchildren, Corrine, Ashley, Sammy, Sabrina, Blair, Jessica, Giavanna, Breeana, PiperJo, Hailey, and Rylee; and one great grandson, Jackson. To his grandkids, Poppop will be missed for his snuggling and playfulness. To his sons, Dad / Papa Smurf will be missed for his funny sayings, advice and sarcasm. To his wife, Hun's true love for her and strength and love for his family will be missed. Everyone will miss his delicious meals and cook outs. He enjoyed every moment spent with his friends and family. His kindness and generosity has left an everlasting memory in everyone that he has met. Rarely seen without his Marine Corp hat he had great pride in his service to his country. Semper Fi Lance Corporal Sam, Hun, Botch, Dad, Poppop and Papa Smurf we will miss your whistling. Services will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950.
