Evan W. Davis
Pawleys Island
Evan W. Davis, of Pawleys Island, SC, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2014 at age 86, supported by his wife and daughters.
Evan was born on August 2, 1927 in New York City, and was raised in Portland, Oregon. He was an All-Star football player at Grant High School in Portland, attended the University of Washington, graduated from the University of Oregon and was a US Army veteran. After a move to the east coast, Evan settled in North Haven, CT, with his wife Joan Brown Davis, and his two daughters, Cheryl and Allison. Evan was a stellar husband and father, his "three girls" were his greatest joy. Since 1994, he has resided in Pawleys Island, where he spent many happy hours playing golf, enjoying the beach and a fine bottle of wine, his other passions.
Evan leaves behind his wife, Joan, of Pawleys Island, his daughter Cheryl, of Brunswick, Maine, his daughter, Allison of Wallingford, CT, grandson Evan, of New York City, grandson Gavin and his fiancé Laurie, also of New York City, a sister, Kay, of Billings, Montana, and a loving niece, Katherine, along with several other family members and many close friends. Evan W. Davis was a warm, loving and happy man, with a generous heart and soul. He loved his family, and was well-loved in return, a fine legacy. Evan's loss will be felt by all who knew and loved him, and he will be missed terribly.
There will be no service in Pawleys Island.

Sorry to hear of Evans passing. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend as we are residing in Florida until April.

Dear Joan,
I was so sorry to hear of Evan's passing. I worked with him at New Haven Body Building. Dennis e-mailed me that Evan had taken ill. He was a dear, sweet man. I send my condolences to you and your family. Dan & Kathy Orth
