Ken Sutton Obituary

Kenneth A. "Ken" Sutton, 77, was pronounced dead Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home near the Fremont County golf course from an apparent diabetic coma.

Ken was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Rexburg, the son of Lew Wallace and Violet Lavon Allen Sutton. He grew up in the Rexburg area, where he received his schooling. He served in the Idaho National Guard and was honorably discharged.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He moved to St. Anthony and worked as a lineman for Utah Power and Light for many years. He also served as a St. Anthony Volunteer Fireman for many years.

He married Terre Loraine Hunt on June 3, 1989, in Elko, Nev. They made their home by the golf course, where they have since resided. Loraine, due to health problems, has been in the Ashton Assisted Living Center for the past couple of years.

Ken is survived by his wife, Loraine of Ashton; stepchildren, Jeffrey, Robynn, Lorri, Tracie, Shannon, Brooke and Jared; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Gail Sutton, Margie Chantrill and Jay Sutton.

Per Ken's request, he was cremated under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home with no formal funeral services to be conducted. Some form of memorial service may be conducted in Archer-Sutton Cemetery at a later date.

Our condolences at the time of Ken's death. We have not lived in that area for years but I remember him well. I served in the National Guard with him and also as a Volunteer Fireman. I was the full time employee at the National Guard in 1962 and went to a school for 5 months. Ken was put in charge of the supply operations which were very difficult at that time. When I returned after the 5 months absence, the supply account was in outstanding shape. He did well as he did throughout his life. Again accept our sympathy.
