Folmer Christensen
Folmer Christensen, 88, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, passed away March 2, 2014.
He was born to Otto and Marianne Christensen on April 22, 1925 in Brush, CO, the youngest of 11 children. He served in the US Navy during WWII. In the years following the war he got his BA from Greely and his masters in Education from Stanford University. He spent thirty years as an administrator with the DOD schools, retiring in 1990 to Pensacola , Florida; subsequently to Cottonwood, AZ; and ultimately to Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, to whom he was married for 52 years. He is survived by his sister Helga Southworth of Sequim, WA, and his two children Kurt Christensen, of Chicago, IL and Viky Divertie, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; as well as Kurt's wife Teresa and Viky's husband, Gavin, and their three children: Reed Divertie, and his wife Becky, of Orlando, FL; Adrienne Divertie of Bethesda, MD; and Chase Divertie of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed.
