Norman A. Ouillette 1926 - 2014 Plainfield - Norman A. "Snapper" Ouillette, 87, formerly of Ralph St. Moosup passed away peacefully at Apple Rehab in Mystic surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 24, 1926 in Moosup a son of the late Arthur and Emma (Bigonesse) Ouillette. Norman married the love of his life Jacqueline (Ridgeway) Ouillette who passed away January 31, 1995. They had six children, Donna Arnio of Brooklyn, Gail Ouillette of Pawcatuck, Leslie and Michael Bourque of Sterling, Ward Ouillette and Christiane Dion of Moosup, Brad and Lin Ouillette of Milford, Jimmy and Teresa Ducharme of Attawaugan. Grandchildren, Jessica Chenette, Brianna and Brent Ducharme, Nicole and Vinny Ardito, Caolin and Riley Johnson. Great grandchildren Taylor and Luke Wenzloff. A brother Roland Ouillette of Moosup, Several nieces and nephews. Snapper enjoyed fishing, particularly shell fishing and hunting. He loved his UCONN girl's basketball and New York Yankees. Snapper recently took up painting. He enjoyed painting lighthouses and gave several of them away to staff and patients at Apple Rehab. He was also a stained glass artist. Snapper was a well known carpenter in the area. He built his home in Moosup on Ralph St, where we have a lot of great memories. Snapper was a World War II Merchant Marine veteran and a communicant of All Hallows Church. The funeral and burial are private.
