Robert J. Johnson, Jr. Jul. 2, 1954 - Mar. 29, 2014 DAYVILLE - Robert J. Johnson, Jr., 59, of Soap Street, Dayville, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Landmark Hospital in Woonsocket, RI. He was born July 2, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA, son of Regina McCauglin and the late Robert J. Johnson, Sr. He married his beloved wife Susan E. Gingras, December 31, 1984 in their home in Dayville, CT. Robert served from 1971 to 1981 with the United States Army retiring in 1980. In 1982 he was the store manager for the new Burger King in Dayville, in 1988 he became a district manager for Cumberland Farms Stores. He enjoyed playing saxophone in the Killingly Community Band. He leaves his wife Susan E. Johnson of Dayville, his children Gregory Johnson of Woonsocket, RI, Staff Sargent Kevin Johnson of Georgia, Nicolas Johnson of Middlebury, CT and Sandi Sharpe of North Grosvenordale, CT, his brother Michael Johnston of North Attleboro, MA, his sister Kimberlaine Allessandro of Rhode Island, his grandchildren Lindsey Seney and Brandon Seney of North Grosvenordale, CT and several nephews. He also leaves his in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gingras from Dayville. Calling Hours will be Friday, April 4, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. There will be a Memorial Reception at the Dayville Fire Station from 12-3 on Saturday April 5, 2014. I so sorry to hear of your loss. Bob and I served together in the 298th Army Band in Berlin. He was a fine soldier and NCO, an outstanding musician, and a good friend. You have my deepest sympathy.
