Jerry Tullis Obituary

Jerry Wilson Tullis
July 1, 1930 – April 15, 2014
Brentwood
Jerry Wilson Tullis passed away on tax day 2014 – ironically a day for which he was never too fond. He was diagnosed with acute leukemia just four days prior, and passed peacefully surrounded by family in his comfy captain's chair.
Jerry was born on the Sunnyside Dairy near Idaho Falls, Idaho. The youngest of nine children, he came to California with his mother at the age of 17. He graduated from Huntington Park High School, attended UCLA and eventually became an insurance underwriter at Phoenix of London. At age 24, he was drafted into the Army and served in the south of France. Upon discharge, Jerry returned to his insurance roots and became vice president at Jensen and Moore, Inc., running the company's San Francisco office.
He retired from Jensen and Moore at the age of 58 and enjoyed traveling for many years. He loved sports and was an avid Dodger/Ram fan until Steve Young took the helm for the 49'ers and the Rams moved to St. Louis.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Lucy, after nearly 57 years of marriage; his three children, Mike (Tammy), Cindy Green and Tim (Shanan), along with foster daughter Cheryl Yazzie Wilson; eight grandchildren: Stephanie, Haiden, Riley, Tate, Wyatt, Tristin, Mia and KaiLi; foster grandchildren Lindsey, Lacy. He was a man of great character and integrity and will be sorely missed.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. and a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1101 Mc Clarren Rd. (at Griffith Ln.), Brentwood, CA. A burial ceremony will follow at Union Cemetery in Brentwood.

Lucy, Mike, Cindy, & Tim:

My condolences and sympathies to all of you. I have wonderful memories of your dad and your whole family over the years on Westbrook Ct. Even though your dad was a Dodger fan it was always a fun and civil conversation when we talked baseball. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I will always treasure the memories shared with the whole Tullis family over the years. I enjoyed a summer of working with Jerry in his Oakland office while I was still in High School. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. I am grateful for the knowledge that families are forever, and pray that you receive comfort form this knowledge. Love to Lucy, Mike, Cindy and Tim
