Rollin S. Jones, Jr.
ORRVILLE -- Rollin S. Jones, Jr., 67, of Orrville, formerly of Rittman and the Copley/Fairlawn area, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Brenn-Field Nursing Home in Orrville.
He was born January 13, 1947 in Cleveland to Rollin and Edith (Deckman) Jones, Sr. and lived most of his life in the Rittman/Fairlawn area. Rollin graduated from Rittman High School in the class of 1966 and joined the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He married Kathleen Lavery in 1971; she preceded him in death in 2013.
He was employed by The Cleveland Clinic as a Respiratory Therapist for 36 years until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Milton Presbyterian Church in Rittman and enjoyed collecting coins, Royal Doulton, metal detecting and playing cards.
Surviving is sister, Bobbi (Rex) McConahay of Wooster; mother-in-law, Barb Ramsier of Rittman; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and several infant siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Milton Presbyterian Church, 250 North St., Rittman, Ohio, with Reverends Marcel van Bulck and Rex McConahay officiating. Inurnment of cremated remains will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, on Wednesday, April 30 at 1:45 p.m. with military honors. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Presbyterian Church P.O.
