PEGGY JANICE DAVIS CREMEANS
Peggy Janice Davis Cremeans, 75, passed on May 27, 2014 at Four Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born February 5, 1939 in Morrisvale, WV to Ermon E. Davis and Ruby Mae Shamblin. Peggy graduated from Scott High School in Madison, WV in 1957. She met her husband, Cliff Allen Cremeans in 1957 and married him on July 19, 1958 at the Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church in Huntington, WV. Peggy graduated from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston) in Charleston WV with a Liberal Arts degree. She worked in numerous administrative positions in Atlanta GA while her husband was finishing his BSEE and MEE at Georgia Tech and his MBA in Charleston WV. Peggy was very active in the Republican Party, Eastern Star, Kappa Kappa Kappa, United Methodist Church and youth sports throughout her life in Charleston WV, Crown Point IN and Asheboro NC. She was an avid gardener - she had "the green thumb"! Peggy was known to be a true Southern hostess. No matter what the activity, she could whip up a spread of food and a setting that was delicious and unbelievably welcoming. Peggy's smile was warm and genuine. An adventure that she delighted in was her trip to Jerusalem with one of her Christian women groups. Peggy and Cliff loved to dance…they were "magic" on the dance floor. In fact, Peggy's all-time favorite singer was Elvis Presley. She was passionate about family; and all who knew her, knew they had a friend for life! Lastly and above all, Peggy loved her family, her friends, and her faith. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by son Timothy Jay and brother Jerry Davis. Peggy is survived by daughters: Shanda Rae Bedoian and husband Michael, Cassandra Kay Bombien and husband Derek, and Melanie Lynne Bartkow and husband Brett; and seven granddaughters: Micayla Skye Bedoian, Cyrena Starr Bedoian, Brooke Angel Bombien, Paige Olivia Bombien, Presley Reese Bartkow, Lily Mae Bartkow and Susannah Lynne Bartkow. Her brothers: Terry Davis and his wife Faye; Gene Davis, and Johnny Davis and his wife, Earlene. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with receiving of family and friends at 1:00 PM and service at 2:00 PM. Graveside service will follow immediately at Boone Memorial Park in Madison WV. What a glorious moment it must've been when Heaven gained an angel in you on Tuesday! I can see Dad welcoming you with open arms, showing you off to everyone as he was always so proud of you. And I can just imagine the homecoming you received from your Mom and Dad as you were their princess. My heart is broken because you are not physically with us anymore, but I find comfort in knowing you are with our Lord and Savior free from pain Mom. There are so many things I could say in tribute to you but mostly I want to thank God for giving me you as my Mom and having you as a Ma Maw to my girls. How blessed we have been. Although I feel you were taken too young, I find comfort in knowing I will see you again. I know you and Dad are dancing your way through Heaven right now, my most favorite and treasured memory of you two.
I miss you and I love you so very much Mom,
Melanie
