My deepest sympathies to Rays family. I had the pleasure of studying drums with Ray in the Chicago area back in the 70's. He was an exceptional set player and teacher. I remember him as always being upbeat and fun to be around. He and I both enjoyed being around Barrett Deems (a world famous drummer) here in Chicago. Essentially Ray, lived for drumming and his enthusiasm was infectious. Godspeed, Ray.

Ray this caught the Harper family by surprise. You have been a wonderful family friend since the 1970's. We visited with each other only two weeks ago. Fantastic drummer, great singer, crazy humor, you will not be forgotten but certainly missed. Godspeed Pal on your journey into the eternities
