JENKINS Thomas Joris Jenkins, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 23, 2014 after a brief illness. Tom was born in Pitcairn, PA on October 5, 1935 to Sarah and Russell Jenkins. Tom is predeceased by his wife, Norma B. Jenkins. Survivors include daughters Tammy Crane (Chris), Wendy Galpin, Donna Ott (Bill), Norma Entwistle (Patrick), Bonnie Parker (Kevin); thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Tom proudly served his country as a Sgt. in the US Marine Corps, leaving in 1959 to marry his wife Norma. Tom was an electrician by trade and a member of the IBEW Local 177 for 49 years. He also attended FCCJ and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. During his professional career he worked on many local construction projects and buildings visible in the Jacksonville skyline and was even a foreman on the Jaguar Stadium. Always a dedicated, loving husband and father, he sacrificed everything for his family. Tom's greatest joys were found in helping others. He spent the last few years of his life, while his health permitted, collecting toys all year and then quietly donating them to TOYS FOR TOTS at Christmas. The family will be holding a memorial service for Tom on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 10:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com . He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers family is requesting donations be made in Tom's honor to TOYS for TOTS. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com
