Steven Stiegel Obituary

Steven "Steve" J. Stiegel, 52

Sauk Rapids

May 1, 1962 - June 23, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids for Steven "Steve" J. Stiegel, age 52, who took his well-deserved journey to Heaven surrounded by loving family and his devoted wife Heidi at Quiet Oaks Hospice on Monday, June 23, 2014.  His strength and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer has inspired many as he fought it with such optimism and grace.  Rev. Jerry Dalseth and Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Friday also at the church.  Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Steve was born May 1, 1962 in Minneapolis to John & Mary Lou (Steffl) Stiegel.  He married Heidi Kupsky on Sept. 20, 2003 at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.  Steve worked as a Master Scheduler for Malco Products in Annandale for 24 years.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an usher.  He volunteered at Pleasantview Elementary and was very active in his children's lives.  Steve was a kind-hearted, generous and loving husband and father.  He enjoyed hunting, golf, Twins baseball, and volunteering his time.

Survivors include his wife, Heidi of Sauk Rapids; children, Natalie, Kathryn, Joseph, and Benjamin; parents, John and Mary Lou of St. Cloud; brothers and sisters, Mark (Mary) of St. Cloud, Jonelle Betz of St. Cloud, Jackie (Norm) Campbell of Calgary, Alberta, Paul (Laura) of St. Cloud, Jean (Kevin) Harthan of Sartell, Andy (Kirsten) of Sauk Rapids, and Jim of Tempe, AZ; many nieces and nephews; and mother and father-in-law, Carl and Shirley Kupsky.

The family would like to thank Quiet Oaks Hospice for the excellent care given to Steve.

We met each other as Client and Sales Representative in 2000, and found out later that we attended the same church. After marrying, I watched as his family grew from my seat on Sundays. When a man with so much to live for is taken so early, it is an awakening to us all. I have no doubt that Steve had "made himself right with his Lord". It doesn't ease the pain that his loved ones and friends now feel. Take solace in knowing that Steve is free from suffering and is looking forward to enjoying the endless rounds of heavenly golf we know were awaiting his arrival.
Rest well my friend until our paths cross once again.
