Mary Reese Felder NEWBERRY - Mary Reese Felder, 91, of Newberry, formerly of Denny Terrace, died Thursday, July 24, 2014. Born June 4, 1923, in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Pearl Berley Reese. Widow of Albert Edward Felder, Mary was an active, longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church before she moved to Newberry. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dentsville Chapter #273 and the Ladies American Auxiliary VFW, Chapter #641. Survivors include sons, Robert A. Hallman of Charlotte, NC, James S. Felder of Columbia; former daughter-in-law, Gloria Hallman; grandchildren, Lisa Glenn, Scott Hallman, J.J. Felder, and Krystal DuBose; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Marion Spearman, Gussie Raines, Virginia Porter, Ruth Stoudemire, Peggy Longshore and Carolyn Lever. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by sons, John G. Hallman and Edward Lee Felder; siblings, John A. Reese, Elizabeth Reese and Nancy Bowers. A memorial service for Mrs. Felder will be held 3 o'clock Sunday, July 27th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, with The Rev. John Jordan officiating. Inurnment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens in West Columbia. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
