Marcia Mongeon
1955 - 2014 NORTH ADAMS Mrs. Marcia Jean (Cook) Mongeon, 58, of 93 Bradley St. died Wednesday Aug. 13, 2014, at Albany Medical Center. She was born in North Adams on Nov. 16, 1955, daughter of the late Harold R. and Priscilla M. (Boyer) Cook. She attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School. Marcia worked as a home day-care provider for over 20 years. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church where she was a CCD teacher for many years. Marcia enjoyed painting ceramics, reading and Yahtzee. She was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Michael R. Mongeon whom she married on Sept. 14, 1974; one daughter, Sarah King of Stafford, Va., two sons, Jeffrey Mongeon and Thomas Mongeon, both of North Adams; eight grandchildren, Michael, Quinn, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Meghan, Zachary, Gabe, and Jenna. She also leaves four sisters including Sandra, Patricia, Andrea, and Jessica, and one brother, Thomas; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Jane Mongeon; her aunt, Lorraine Gannon; nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog, "Molly". Her brother Richard is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. Mike,Sarah,Jeff and Tom,Marcia's life was a life over to its fullest. A happy marriage, a wonderful family and a loving home were just some of the great things she accomplished. With so many children and grandchildren her legacy will certainly live on.
