Feb. 3, 1924 - Oct. 12, 2016 Betty Alice Ezell Hedman, age 92, Pascagoula passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at her residence. She was born Feb. 3, 1924 in Pascagoula and has been a lifelong resident. Mrs. Betty was a Freelance Public Stenographer and former court reporter for 19th Judicial District Circuit Court and Chancery Court. She was a former member of American Legion Auxiliary and member of Order of Eastern Star. She was a member and enjoyed singing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula. She is preceded in death by her husband, John O'Connor Hedman; five brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Betty is survived by her two sons and one daughter, John O. Hedman, Jr., Pascagoula; Paul David Hedman, Kennesaw, GA; Elaine Virginia Hedman, Pascagoula; six grandchildren, Anna Sparks, Emma Hedman-Schade, Jeremy, Derek, Carey, and Corey Hedman; one great grandson, Conrad Hedman; devoted nieces, Joyce Wilkerson and Maryann Coker; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, 1:00-2:00pm, at First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Marcia B. Willett officiating. Barbara and I remember Betty with great fondness from our time at First Presbyterian Church, Pascagoula. She was a wonderful lady and a dear friend. We pray God's blessings on all of you.
