Coming from different novitiates, I didn't get to know Bob until the 50th reunion. There we had a chanced to talk more, leaving me with warm memories of his caring personality and generous spirit. I'm happy to say: He was a "good man", and always represented the brothers, and manhood in a positive manner. Bill Gaertner

I will remember Bob as I knew him in the Brothers. A very humble, charitable, quiet, dedicated person who always seemed to be on a even keel. A wonderful person and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Proud to have had Bob "Bap" as a member of our group '62. Always had a smile and tried to make others happy. He was a good and holy man and will be missed. RIP. Br Chris Burns

Ouch! Losing Bob is a huge OUCH. Bob was a good guy from Day 1 when he joined the monks.' I remember him saying that he spotted an ad somewhere that the Brothers had put out, recruiting guys to join up. He responded to the ad for more info and, based on what he learned, chose to join back in '62 and seemed to stay 100% committed to being a monk' every day.
I think Bob had the personality and commitment to being a monk so much that he would have made a great Novice Master too. It's a shame that it can't happen now. I'm now missing him emotionally, as we speak.

Bob was a caregiver through and through, someone who always thought about making things a little better for the other individual and the next one and so on. Come to think of it, I imagine he's doing that right now.
