Bruce Comer
June 30, 1946 - October 12, 2016
Macon, GA- Bruce Comer, age 70, passed away Wednesday at the Blair House.
Bruce was born in Ocala, Florida to the late Joseph Benjamin Comer and Hilda Wiona Mims Comer. Bruce proudly served in the United States Air Force and fought a lifelong battle with the invisible wounds he endured while in Vietnam. Bruce enjoyed playing guitar and reading, but above all, he loved to be around people. He was loving, encouraging, strong-willed, and always had a positive word for every situation.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Comer.
Bruce is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Casey Black (Michael) of McDonough; three grandchildren, Sam Hutto, Gavin Black, and Madison Black; nephew, Joe Comer (Janet) of Alabama; and niece, Sheri Caruso (Joe) of Colorado. He is also survived by his loving "family" at the Blair House.
The family will gather at a later date and lay Bruce to rest in the Gulf- one of his favorite places to visit.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Heart of Georgia Humane Society, P.O. Box 7554, Macon, Georgia 31209.

I have known Mr. Comer since before I could remember through my mom and dad Daniel Wilson and Diane Hudson. I looked up to him because he was courteous, friendly, a people person but mostly because he always took the time to talk to me even as early as 3 or 4 years old. My parents are deaf so he was involved in their deaf community but always made the kids of the deaf groups feel special too. He has always and will always hold a special place in my heart. RIP Bruce Comer
